Dopo l’uscita del mio libro di poesie in italiano “Reciproche Rinascite” e per le richieste dei pittori e dei fotografi non italiani che hanno collaborato alla stesura del libro e per le domande di alcuni potenziali lettori di lingua inglese, ho voluto tradurre la mia opera, e la ho rivissuta: una nuova creazione. Ho recitato e riscritto le poesie del libro in lingua inglese. E in parallelo ho riletto alcuni testi delle poetesse inglesi e USA dei secoli passati. Dopo più di sette diverse stesure, ho proposto la lettura del testo a un pubblico selezionato e poi lo ho affidato al traduttore Diego Luci. Ed ecco questo nuovo testo, con la speranza che sia un’altra traccia di un percorso comune.

Le rinascite avvengono talvolta senza essere volute: traumatiche e imposte da eventi che obbligano a mutamenti radicali, meravigliose per qualcosa in più che la vita può offrire, oppure disperate per gli imprevisti che tutto tolgono, ad eccezione delle cupe visioni per il futuro.

Fortuna e impegno concedono il lusso di rinascere da adulti, mantenendo i ricordi del proprio passato. In questo caso è d’obbligo che anche le memorie relative agli altri, conservate dentro di noi, rinascano concretamente, allo scopo di evitare una mera riproduzione di ciò che siamo stati. La vera rinascita ha bisogno della disponibilità altrui, del sostegno di coloro che abbiamo frequentato, in particolare delle persone più intime. Se si persegue una rinascita senza arrecare dolore a nessuno saremo in grado di esprimere i sentimenti e i desideri profondi: così facendo potremo dire di essere diventati davvero adulti, più saggi e sinceri.

Questa raccolta di 50 poesie accompagnate da immagini, di cui alcune a colori, intende suscitare nel lettore riflessioni e stimoli sul mondo, sui rapporti umani e sulle meraviglie che ciascun essere vivente porta con sé.

I have been asked to translate into English my book of poems in Italian “Mutual Rebirths” by painters and photographers not Italian who co-wrote the book, and also for some potential requests to English readers . I relived my book in English: a new creation. I have recited and I have rewritten my poems. At the same time I re-read some texts of the British and US poetesses of past centuries. After more than seven different drafts, I have proposed the reading of the text in a selected audience and then I have entrusted the text to the translator Diego Luci.

Rebirths occur sometimes spontaneausly, due to events which require radical changes, and they can be wonderful for what life can offer more, or they can cause desperation for unespected occurences contingencies that take away everything, except those dark visions the future.

Fortune and engagement allow you the luxury of being reborn as adults, keeping the memories of your past. In this case, it is also necessary that the memories concerning the others and stored in ourselves have to be really in order to avoid a mere reproduction of what we were. The real rebirth needs the others and the support of those we had an intimate relathionship with. If we pursue a revival with not causing pain to anybody, we will be able to express feelings and deep desires: doing so, we will become truly adult, wiser and sincere.

This collection of 50 poems accompanied by pictures, some of them in color, wants the readers to think over the world, the human relationships and the wonders that every person carries within itself.
